In functionality, I will give it a good 9 out of 10. With that been said, I think it is time for another to have this boombox, and keep some. But you'll have to be close notice it. Chrome in this unit is almost perfect except for some little faded spots on tweeters.
My recommendation is that when you push the play button, please be gentle, or you'll pressing cassette tape too hard, causing bad sound, and provably damage in your. Chassis is perfect condition no cracks.
Playing speed is normal, and sound accurate for this unit. Front paint have some snicks and scratches here there, is the only downside of this unit. I own this boombox for about 5 years, and kept it in display my music studio, as part of collection.
Very little, or no static when tuning antenna is tight like new straight, and in good working condition. And that music sounded loud even when the sound was far from perfect, we felt passion in it. Now to the touch, and operating system: volume knob is tight, no distortion when raising or lowering. I'm proud, and passionate of my boomboxes, what they represent to me. And for the exterior appearance details, i'll say a solid 8 out of 10. Tone knob feels tight, and in perfect working condition.
No scratchy sounds cassette player buttons are tight like new and they all in working condition. Lola I also found the original service manual my observation about this manual, is that they used to use a thick, smooth, good quality paper for manuals. Also noticeable when up close. I didn't test the recording part, because my cassettes are originals, and like them very much.
But I guess can buy a cassette and do that test if you prefer. Meters are both in perfect working condition. To me, love is the name of this game.
Radio works well, good signal reception, and sounds very. I think is important that we boombox collectors keep this babies alive and well, to preserve the history pride of culture.
