I live in Schenectady NY and am only 160 miles from metro NJ area. I notice that the power button is stuck in on position and personally don't worry about it because converter does function for me.
I use a voltage converter which steps down 110 to japan 100 turn the table off and on. Condition is excellent cosmetically and mechanically. The tonearm is a uniquest arm with that was made for this table and Pioneer pl7lii. Tremendous in size and weight this table sings when set up with a good cartridge.
