Details:
Cassette player is not working. It does not noticeably affect FM radio reception. Radio works fine.
The tip and telescopic sections are missing. Jvc RC-880JW rc-880 stereo boombox auto reverse cassette player. Also, the antenna is broken. Only the first section of antenna remains.
I opened the case and removed belt fragments. I did include the broken belt for reference. It is not perfect by any means. The motor does work, but nothing due to belt being broken.
I originally planned to restore this unit, but never found the time. If the play button is pressed, it will cause cassette door to become stuck. The belt will need to be replaced. I had to turn the gears by hand in able open cassette door.
It is a nice looking box, for the right collector. This rc-880 boombox would be a good candidate for either restoration, or possibly parts. This Jvc boombox is over 30 years old 1984.
