The volume works. I haven't tested the recording function because don't have any other blank tapes to test it on. This is a vintage Panasonic RX-SR29 stereo radio cassette recorder. Cassettes are normal bias.
Don't miss out on this great buy. The radio also works, but tuning dial is very stiff. Batteries are included. It is used, but its been tested and plays cassettes just fine.
