It was 3 years before I moved back and had forgot all about. Made in japan, not china. The fm tuner is quite sensitive, has a stereo indicator, auto reverse cassette and twin earphone jacks. I'd love to keep this myself but my cassette collection is long gone and at 72, I don't want start over.
Just after Christmas my sisters and I started to ready the house for sale. In a cedar chest packed with linens, I found this box pictured the photo above. It is in absolute pristine condition and like new out of the box. I bought this outfit for my mom in it puzzled me why the box showed some wear.
I opened the box and was dumbfounded. Its a delight to hold and play with. Also included a new spare one in case of need around the year 2050 or so.
Anyway, I borrowed a cassette and checked it out. I can only guess that she moved it from place to over the years or something. Everything works perfectly.
This is the perfect item for a very serious collector or someone with cassette collection and love of high quality gear. I figured it was full of hankies or something. Simply remove the 3 screws on back, back lifts off and belt is right there, see photo this little unit of highest quality as all Klh line was. You can tell by the heft of it that has a full metal magnesium.
Although it played perfectly, I did not trust a 33 year old rubber belt to be trusted for long and replaced with new one. There it was, in pristine condition after 33 years. It Haydn't rung a bell yet.
