Cosmetically, the box is an 8. But even when it was in my immediate possession, I didn use the box. I bought this box back in 2011 from a. The mechanism is stuck in up position so order to get your tape out, you'll have do a combination of pushing down pause button, eject button open door slightly and then use something like plastic knife behind push.
Not much bass but the treble is better than trk-8280 and trk-8600rm I own. For sale is a Hitachi Perdisco TRK-8800RM boombox from japan. Japan offer and at the time, tape deck was fully working but played a slightly slower speed.
All that said, when you turn the power on, can hear deck mechanism once, so its probably either a belt issue or bad logic solenoid - I don't know. Other than that, its a good sounding box. Either way, its gonna need some work.
A few years ago the tape deck stopped working, probably because it was sitting in storage unit for before then. Comes with a power cord. The reel cassette shown is not included.
