I used the cord and didn't test it out with batteries. The unit has some light marks and scratches. Both cassette players play a but on the number 2 it doesn't rewind or fast forward like should. Seems to get stuck.

The box has some marks, rips and wear. Comes in the original box and has Thad instructions. The compartment looks clean. I didn't test the headphone jack or microphone.

The radio works like it should.
